Baked Quinces With A Cream Crown

Preparation:

After you have removed the fluff from the quinces, wrap them loosely in aluminum foil and put them in the oven at 200 ° C for 60 to 90 minutes. The thicker the fruit, the longer the baking time.

Once the quinces have become soft, cut them in half, remove the core with a small spoon and pour the sweet whipped cream into this hollow.

Quince Pot With Lentils

It can also be savory, the quince. You should definitely try how good it is, for example with this vegetarian dish.

Ingredients: (For per person)

  • 2 quinces
  • 180g red lentils
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 250 g pureed tomatoes
  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • 400 ml vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt, pepper, cinnamon, cumin

Preparation:

Dice onions and garlic and sweat them briefly in vegetable oil.

Now cut the peeled and cored quinces into narrow wedges and add them to the onion and garlic cubes with 100 ml of water.

Steam the whole thing for about six to eight minutes.

Then add tomatoes, coconut milk, vegetable broth and red lentils.

The pot now needs about 20 minutes over medium heat - don't forget to stir regularly.

The final touch is the spices. Season the quince and lentil pot with salt, pepper, cinnamon and cumin.

Bean and quince vegetables

Pears and beans are old hat, although undoubtedly still delicious. With quinces you can add a modern touch to your vegetables, whether as a side dish with game or enjoyed on their own.

Ingredients( For four to six people):

  • 500g green beans
  • 1-2 quinces
  • 3 red onions
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 bunch of savory
  • some lemon juice, salt, pepper

preparation:

Put the cleaned beans in simmering salted water for five minutes.

Meanwhile, as a quince professional you already know, you prepare the quinces: rub them, wash them, remove the seeds! And then cut it into medium-sized cubes for this dish. To prevent them from turning brown, sprinkle them with a little lemon juice and move on to your next ingredient.

Peel the red onion and cut it into small pieces.

Then fry the quince cubes and onion pieces in the oil for five minutes.

Mix with the now cooked beans and the chopped savory and season with salt and pepper.
